Replace both brake boots even if one of them is made oily or worn out only. |

- Disconnect the top coupling spring by means of special pincers, for example, HAZET 797 Dismantling can be executed also by means of a pipe piece, but it is slightly more difficult.

- Take out the holder of a coupling spring by means of a screw-driver from an aperture in a brake boot.

- Remove the adjusting lever from a brake boot and disconnect a coupling spring.
- Slightly delay brake boots outside and remove adjusting разжимную a lath Remove brake колодки.

- Take out a lock pin of forward fastening of a brake boot. For this purpose press a plate of a spring and turn it on a corner 90 hailstones. Simultaneously thus keep a pin behind. Remove a plate of a spring and take a pin.

- Similarly remove a lock pin of back fastening of a brake boot.
- Disconnect the bottom coupling spring.
- Remove brake boots. Thus disconnect a cable of a drive of a lay brake from анкерного a finger.

Installation
|
|
Replace all (four) brake boots simultaneously. It is possible to replace as brake boots, and only brake overlays. Replacement of brake overlays is described in Section Replacement of brake overlays of drum-type brakes. It is recommended to apply only original brake boots and overlays or recommended by firm Opel. Clear a brake drum and a brake board the compressed air or wipe their spirit. |

Do not inhale a dust of brake mechanisms. During removal of brake boots do not press a brake pedal, the piston can leave the brake cylinder. If on the brake cylinder is available traces of a brake liquid it is necessary to replace it. |

|
- Grease анкерный a finger in area прилегания boots with a thin layer of thermosteady greasing, for example, OPEL 19 42 588 (90 166 282) or high-temperature copper greasing. Preliminary clear greased places a soft wire brush.

- Connect the lever of a brake boot to a cable of a drive of a lay brake. Watch a correct arrangement of a cable.

- Establish the bottom coupling spring.
- Establish brake колодки on анкерный a finger. For this purpose push a lock pin behind and establish a spring. Pull a spring with a plate, then turn a plate on 90 hailstones and fix it in this position. Simultaneously keep a lock pin behind.
- Check up ease of a course of an adjusting wheel and adjusting разжимной lever laths. If necessary disassemble a lath and clear it.
- Grease a lath with a thin layer of silicone greasing, for example, OPEL 19 70 206 (90 167 353). Screw back an adjusting wheel against the stop, then again release. The adjusting wheel should not be blocked in an emphasis.

- Establish an adjusting lath from above between brake boots. Thus watch its position.

At installation of new brake boots watch that the spring of the adjusting lever has been established тарельчатая. |
- Establish the adjusting lever with a spring on a pin.
Installation of the adjusting lever
- Connect to the help of a grip a coupling spring of the adjusting lever with a brake boot.
- Insert the holder of a coupling spring in tightening a pin and press it into an aperture of a brake boot.
- Connect the top coupling spring by means of pincers to the holder (address to an illustration).
