Check and replacement of the fuel pump - petrol models

Check

The relay of the fuel pump is in a foot well, behind a cover of right rack C to which the door of the forward passenger adjoins. The relay provides a food of the electric fuel pump and interruption of giving of a food if at the switched off ignition there are no ignition impulses (the engine глохнет).

If for the purpose of check it is necessary to include the fuel pump at the muffled engine, disconnect the relay and close the plug 30 (a thick red wire) and the plug 87 (a red-dark blue wire) among themselves a short wire. For check of the relay of the fuel pump the storage battery should be charged.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. On engines of 1.2 and 1.4 l capacity of 45 and 60 h.p. accordingly temporarily switch off ignition. The fuel pump should work during 2 with.
  2. Check up a safety lock № 26 in the block of safety locks.
  3. Disconnect the relay (1) Preliminary remove a pocket from outside the forward passenger under the panel of devices, and also lateral facing of rack A.

Relay site

  1. Attach the voltmeter to plugs 30 (+) and 85 (-) on the relay location. Pressure between them should make about 12 Century
  2. Otherwise include the voltmeter between the plug 30 relays and the negative plug of the storage battery. If the voltmeter does not show pressure approximately 12 In, check up, integrity of a wire of the plug 85 (the Onboard electric equipment see the Head) or check up a red wire. If necessary replace a wire.
  3. Include ignition. If pressure 12В on the plug 86 (+) is absent, check up integrity of a black wire. If necessary replace a wire.
  4. Close a short wire of the plug 30 and 87 among themselves. If the pump works, replace the pump relay. Otherwise check up the red-dark blue wire going to the fuel pump. If necessary, replace a wire.
  5. If wires are whole also a current passes, replace the fuel pump.

Check of productivity of the fuel pump

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Dump pressure of fuel.
  2. On engines of 1.2 and 1.4 l capacity of 45 and 60 h.p. accordingly disconnect топливоподающий a hose (1) to the block of injection and direct a hose to capacity in volume about 2 l.

Fuel submitting hose

  1. On engines of 1.4 and 1.6 l capacity of 82 h.p. and engines DOHC of 1.0 and 1.2 l disconnect топливоподающий a hose (1) from a fuel highway and direct a hose to capacity in volume about 2 l. Disconnect a hose from a regulator of pressure of fuel and close it.

Submitting (1) and returnable (2) fuel hoses

  1. Disconnect electroconducting of the relay of the fuel pump.
  2. Connect from a socle of the relay the plug 30 (a thick red wire) and the plug 87 (a red-dark blue wire) include for one minute the fuel pump. At pressure 12 To the pump should submit about 1.4 l/minutes
  3. If productivity is small, replace the fuel filter and again check up productivity of the pump. At negative result of check replace the fuel pump.
  4. Put on a fuel hose and fix its collar or накидной a nut. If the vacuum hose from a pressure regulator acted in film, put on it.

Replacement

The fuel pump is under a back seat, is direct in a fuel tank. On the diesel engine the fuel pump is built in in ТНВД.

On cars CORSA COMBO for removal of the fuel pump it is required to remove a fuel tank. Before removal of the fuel pump it is necessary to devastate as much as possible a fuel tank to prevent вытекание fuel. For this purpose it is necessary or to pass on the car to full израсходования fuel, or to pump out fuel through a jellied mouth the pump having protection against explosion.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove pressure of fuel.
  2. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  3. Cast away a back seat.
  4. Cast away a rug.
  5. Wring out a screw-driver a plastic cover in the body bottom.
  6. Separate a socket (1).

  1. Mark with a tape топливопроводы (2) and disconnect them from corresponding unions (address to an illustration). For this purpose ослабьте collars a screw-driver or cut.

Before a detachment of hoses enclose in corresponding places of more rags for gathering of following fuel.

  1. To prevent вытекание fuel, it is possible to stop up hoses also. It is necessary to close as well unions to exclude hit in dirt system.
  2. Open the lock fuel насосаДля it it is possible to use special tool KM-797. If the specified tool is not present, put at a groove of a lock ring a corresponding plastic wedge and open a clip, slightly striking on a wedge a hammer.

Do not apply for this purpose a metal wedge to exclude danger of formation of sparks!

  1. Disconnect from the union a hose of return of fuel (marksman).

  1. Take out a hook the case of the pump from a tank and wipe rags dripping fuel.

Pump extraction


At any damage of the fuel pump equipped with the filtering grid, it is necessary to replace as well a grid. Damages and pollution of a grid of the fuel pump can cause failures in work of the fuel pump.

  1. Installation is made in an order, the return to an order of dismantle of components.
  2. After installation start the engine and check up, work of the pump and presence of leaks.
