Before to start performance of checks of functioning of a starter make sure that the reason of the complicated start is not low level of a charge of the battery.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

If the starter does not rotate at all at ignition key turn in position START, first of all, make following elementary checks: Check up level of a charge of the battery, and also a condition and reliability of fastening of wires on plugs of the battery and the traction relay of a starter; Check up a condition of wires of the battery. Defective components replace; Check up a battery condition. In case of need replace its new; Check up a condition of electroconducting and клеммных starter connections (schemes of electric connections in the Head the Onboard electric equipment see); Check up reliability of a tightening of bolts of fastening of a starter; At a corresponding complete set check up a condition of fusible inserts in the assembly block in an impellent compartment of the car (the Onboard electric equipment see the Head). If any of inserts has failed, make investigation and elimination of the reasons of an overload. Also check up serviceability of functioning of a chain of the switch of ignition (the Onboard electric equipment see the Head); Check up serviceability of functioning of the gauge-switch of the permission of start (model with АТ) / deenergizings of a chain of a starter (model with РКПП). Engine start can be carried out only in a case when the lever of the selector of transfers is established in position Р or N (АТ), or the coupling pedal (РКПП) is completely squeezed out. Check up serviceability of functioning of the relay of inclusion of the starter located in the assembly block of safety locks/relays in an impellent compartment of the car (the Onboard electric equipment see the Head). For check of a condition of the battery include headlights, - if brightness of their luminescence in some seconds sharply falls, hence, the battery is discharged, - make additional charge (see the Head of Adjustment and car routine maintenance), or replace the battery (see Has undressed Removal, check and installation of candles накаливания). If headlights burn brightly, include a starter and observe of lamps. If starter activation leads to decrease in brightness of a luminescence of headlights it means that the current reaches the electromotor of a starter and malfunction is covered actually in assemblage of the last. If brightness of a luminescence of headlights does not vary and there is no click of operation of the traction relay infringement of serviceability of functioning of the relay, or damage to a chain of its electroconducting, hence, takes place. If the starter turns the engine too poorly, and level of a charge of the battery is in norm, means or the electromotor is faulty, or resistance in a chain of system of start is exceeded. For chain check disconnect wires from the battery (including the grounding tyre on кузовной an element). Also disconnect electroconducting of the traction relay and the thick cable crosspiece connecting the block of the engine with a body. Carefully smooth out all contact connections, then restore initial connection of electroconducting and take advantage of the voltmeter or a lamp-sampler for stock-taking of full pressure of the battery on a positive wire going to the traction relay, also "ring out" a negative wire. Grease клеммные battery knots with technical vaseline. If the battery and contact connections are found serviceable, check up a chain, having disconnected a wire from the traction relay. Connect a lamp-sampler between the disconnected wire and weight (pure metal of a body or the negative plug of the battery). Include ignition, make sure of integrity of a conductor, - if the lamp burns, hence, breakages are not present. Contacts of the involving relay can be checked up if to attach the voltmeter or a control bulb between a positive wire in a place of its joining to the motor of a starter and "earth". If to include a starter, the lamp should be shone or to be corresponding pressure on the voltmeter indicator. If is not present – it is faulty the involving relay, it is necessary to replace it. If the chain and the traction relay are serviceable, it is necessary to take down a starter in a workshop of car-care centre for check of a condition of its internal components and carrying out of necessary regenerative repair, - before make sure that cost of repair will not exceed cost of replaceable knot.
