Removal and installation of the water pump

Petrol engines 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6 l

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Merge cooling liquid in pure capacity and at once put on a hose back and fix it.
  3. Remove a gear belt (Engines see the Head).
  4. On engines OHC of 1.2 and 1.4 l remove a back cover of a gear belt (Engines see the Head) for what turn out bolts of fastening and uncover camshaft beds, cogwheels of distributive and cranked shaft, and also a tension roller the case of the oil pump.
  5. Turn out bolts of fastening and remove the water pump (engine OHC 1.2 or 1.4 is shown).

  1. Clear interfaced surfaces of the pump and the block of cylinders.
  2. To exclude corrosion of the water pump, grease a surface of the block of cylinders interfaced to it, and also a sealing ring in the case of the pump with silicone greasing, for example, OPEL 19 70 206 (90 167 353).
  3. Establish the water pump with a new sealing ring (2) in the block of cylinders and tighten bolts of its fastening with effort of 8 Nanometers.

On engines DOHC of 1.4 and 1.6 l establish the pump so that the label (2) on the pump coincided with a label (1) on the block of cylinders

Adjusting labels
  1. On engines OHC of 1.2 and 1.4 l establish a back cover of a gear belt, tighten bolts of its fastening with effort of 12 Nanometers, and establish a cogwheel of a cranked shaft, watching coincidence of labels ВМТ (Engines see the Head).
  2. On engines OHC of 1.2 and 1.4 l establish a tension roller of a gear belt. Watch installation position: the pad (1) laths of a roller should enter into an aperture (2) cases of the oil pump the Pad should come into an aperture against the stop to the right. Tighten a bolt with effort of 20 Nanometers. Establish a camshaft cogwheel (Engines see the Head).

  1. Put on a gear belt and pull it (Engines see the Head).
  2. On engines OHC of 1.2 and 1.4 l establish a cover of bed of a camshaft with a new sealing lining and tighten bolts of fastening with effort of 8 Nanometers.
  3. Fill cooling system.

Petrol engines DOHC of 1.0 and 1.2 l

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Uncover a broad tank and pit thereby pressure in cooling system.
  2. Merge cooling liquid.
  3. Remove the air filter with gauge MAF.
  4. Give bolts of fastening of a pulley of the water pump.
  5. Turn a tension roller of a V-shaped belt for the central bolt in an hour hand direction and by that displace натяжитель, overcoming effort of a spring.

Easing of a tension of a belt of a drive of auxiliary units

  1. Fix position натяжителя.
  2. Remove a V-shaped belt from a pulley.
  3. Turn out the bottom bolt of fastening натяжителя and incline it towards the generator.
  4. Remove hoses ОЖ from the pump.
  5. Separate a socket of gauge ECT (2) and clear case GRM.

  1. Turn out bolts of fastening and remove the water pump (arrows and 1 on an illustration).
  2. Clear interfaced surfaces of the pump and case GRM.
  3. Establish on case GRM a new lining and insert directing plugs.

  1. Establish the water pump and tighten bolts of its fastening with effort of 8 Nanometers.

Short bolts screw in apertures (1), and long bolts - in the apertures noted by arrows (address to an illustration).

  1. Tighten the bottom bolt of fastening натяжителя a V-shaped belt with effort of 20 Nanometers.
  2. Put on a V-shaped belt and pull it (see the Head of Adjustment and car routine maintenance).
  3. Establish the air filter with gauge MAF.
  4. Fill cooling system.

The diesel engine

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.
  2. Merge cooling liquid in pure capacity then at once put on a hose and fix it.
  3. Remove the air filter and an air inlet sleeve.
  4. Remove a V-shaped belt.
  5. Turn out bolts of fastening of a pulley of the water pump and remove a pulley At a reversing of bolts keep a pulley a stripper of the oil filter, for example, HAZET 2170.

  1. Slightly raise the engine.

Use of the special adaptation for engine lifting

  1. Turn out fastening bolts демпфирующей engine support to the holder on the block of cylinders.

  1. Cautiously lower the engine and remove a pulley of a V-shaped belt.
  2. Turn out bolts of fastening of the water pump and take out it together with directing of the block of cylinders.

  1. Clear interfaced surfaces of the pump and the block of cylinders.
  2. Insert into the block of cylinders directing the channel of a cooling liquid.

  1. Establish the pump with a new lining in the block of cylinders and tighten bolts of fastening of the pump with effort of 20 Nanometers.
  2. Establish a pump pulley.
  3. Raise the engine.
  4. Fix демпфирующую an engine support on the holder with effort of 60 Nanometers.
  5. Lower the engine.
  6. Tighten fixture of a pulley of the water pump with effort of 20 Nanometers.
  7. Establish a V-shaped belt and pull it.
  8. Establish the air filter and an air inlet sleeve.
  9. Fill cooling system.
