Principle of functioning of systems of injection of fuel

System of central injection MulTec

The fuel pump submits fuel from a tank through the fuel filter to the case of a throttle or to a fuel distributive highway.

The air-fuel mix is injected into the throttle case by means of the central injector and arrives in the inlet pipeline, whence is distributed on separate cylinders. The pressure regulator supports pressure in the inlet pipeline at level 0.76 атм.


4 injectors are attached to a fuel highway. The pressure regulator supports in a highway pressure of the fuel, equal 3.0 атм. Injectors cope electronics and inject fuel simultaneously into the inlet pipeline in front of inlet valves.

Air is sucked in by the engine through the air filter and a branch pipe throttle заслонки by means of which the necessary quantity of fuel is regulated. Depression in the inlet pipeline is registered by the corresponding gauge, also as well as temperature of soaked up air. On these parametres the management module defines weight of soaked up air. The gauge of pressure of soaked up air is on a partition of an impellent compartment and is connected through a vacuum hose with the inlet pipeline.

ECM according to weight of soaked up air and other parametres, as for example, the engine temperature, regulates demanded quantity of injected fuel.


From a fuel distributive highway fuel arrives to injectors. The pressure regulator in a highway watches that pressure in it was supported equal 3.0 атм. Management of injectors is made separately. Injection is made according to sequence of ignition, during the necessary moment.

On the engine of 1.6 l of 109 h.p. the weight of soaked up air is registered by gauge MAF. On other engines the weight of soaked up air is defined on depression size in the inlet pipeline. Definition on weight is made more precisely and faster. ECM according to the measured weight of air and other parametres, such as the engine temperature, regulates quantity of injected fuel.

1 — Gauge MAF
With definition of a return stream, i.e. at calculation of quantity of injected fuel the volume of air rejected at closing of inlet valves is considered. It provides more exact giving of fuel.

2 — TPS

It is located directly at the engine or at the inlet pipeline. It provides the minimum length of a cable. Has 2 sockets: for the engine and a combination of devices

It is located in case EGR both copes ECM and regulates quantity of the fulfilled gases returned in the engine. Case EGR is fixed on a head of cylinders and connects a final collector through the channel going in a head of cylinders with the inlet pipeline. In case EGR the channel of a cooling liquid going to a heater is located.

Elements of system of injection (all engines)

TPS it is located directly on an axis throttle заслонки. It transfers ECM the information on current position throttle заслонки.

The relay of the fuel pump is located in a foot well, behind a cover of right rack A. In the same place is ECM. The relay operates food giving on the fuel pump and interrupts a food as soon as receipt of impulses of ignition, for example, if the engine глохнет stops.

Gauge CKP is sideways in an impellent compartment. It hands over the information on number of turns of cranked shaft ECM.

The ljambda-probe measures concentration of oxygen in a stream of the fulfilled gases and transmits corresponding signals ECM. On the basis of received information ECM changes quality of an air-fuel mix that provides optimum reburning of the fulfilled gases in каталитическом the converter.

The step-by-step e/motor of system of stabilisation of idling regulates number of turns of idling, supporting its invariable, irrespective of use of additional units, such as ГУР or К/В. Management of the electric motor carries out ICM.

The control valve of system EVAP is on a partition of an impellent compartment. At the open valve of pair fuel from an adsorber move on всасывание and are burnt in the engine.

In an adsorber accumulation of steams of fuel which are formed in a fuel tank owing to temperature change is made. The collected fuel evaporations then are used and do not get to atmosphere.

Presence of regulation of a detonation provides on the engine of 1.2 l and engines DOHC of 1.4 and 1.6 l work possibility on border of a detonation and adaptation to quality of applied fuel. Detonation regulation allows the engine to work with high degree of compression. It in turn provides possibility of optimum use of energy of fuel that leads to decrease in its expense.

Gauge MAF on engines of 1.6 l (109 h.p.) is on an exit of the air filter. In gauge MAF case there is a thin heated film which is cooled by a stream of air flowing round it. The control system regulates a heating current so that the film temperature (supervised on resistance) remained a constant. If, for example, as a result of increase in a corner of opening throttle заслонки it is sucked in большее quantity of air, the plate is cooled. Value of a current of heating that the temperature remained a constant as consequence increases. Value of a current thus corresponds to weight of sucked in air.

Gauge CKP serves in system MULTEC-S for definition of the cylinder for consecutive injection. Thanks to this gauge ECM defines, for example, when the piston of the cylinder 1 is in ВМТ.

On engines DOHC of 1.4 and 1.6 l from 09.1994 of release the system подмешивания additional air corrects structure of the fulfilled gases at engine warming up.
