Heating element of the fuel filter

The general information

Owing to fall of an ambient temperature fluidity of diesel fuel also decreases because of formation in it of paraffin. For this reason in the winter the special additives raising fluidity of fuel and providing start of the engine at temperature to–15 hailstones are entered into diesel fuel. Or to–22 hailstones. (Superdiesel fuel).

However the specified additives not always it appears enough. For this reason diesel engines of models Corsa are equipped by heating elements of the fuel filter. Heating joins at temperature more low +6 hailstones. After start of the engine and at temperature above +16 hailstones. It is again disconnected.

Owing to the raised consumption by heating elements of capacity in engine start it is necessary to switch off all consumers unnecessary at present.

On the cars which have been not equipped with heating elements of the fuel filter, to diesel fuel at refuelling add to 30 % of kerosene, неэтилированного gasoline or special additives for fluidity improvement.

Instructions at addition of impurity:

  • Watch that mixing was made before car refuelling by diesel fuel.
  • Do not add more than 30 % of kerosene or неэтилированного some gasoline. The additive of special additives for fluidity improvement make according to instructions of their manufacturers.
  • Diesel fuel with gasoline additives is pozharo - and explosive. Mixing should be made only in the open air.
  • The fuel filter already littered with the thickened fuel in itself is not cleared. It is necessary to put the car in warm garage and to wait, while the filter will not thaw.

At all do not use for these purposes a blowtorch or similar means.

Replacement

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove the fuel filter.
  2. Disconnect from assemblage of the filter a heater.
  3. Grease a sealing ring of a heater of the filter with diesel fuel.

Greasing of a sealing ring of a heater

  1. Fix on assemblage of the filter a heater.
  2. Establish the fuel filter and filter assemblage.
